Þórsmörk valley is a very special place and the rugged nature of this
valley offers a unique composition of
glaciers, low woodland and mighty glacial rivers we will
have to cross with a modified 4x4 vehicle to reach our destination. On
the way to
Thorsmörk we will visit the picturesque waterfall Seljalandsfoss, pass
the Gígjökull glacier lagoon before turning back at the spectacular
gorge Stakkholtsgjá, where we will eat a pack lunch.
As we emerge from the vast glacier valley we will drive east to the
frozen glacier tongue of
Sólheimajökull. There we will explore the glacier on foot and view the
amazing crevassed riddled crawling glacier! We will provide crampons
for you and all
the necessary glacier gear. As we walk on the ancient ice and
observe the spectacular surroundings your guide will explain this
complicated phenomena and the changes all glacier is Iceland are going
through. On the way back to Reykjavik we will make a brief stop at the
beautiful Skógafoss waterfall.
On this trip you get to see and do what most of the population will only dream about and very few ever try.

pax. Maximum: 45 pax. Age limit: 14 years. Bring with you: Warm outdoor
clothing, waterproof jacket and pants. Good hiking shoes are
recommended! No knowledge of the sport required. Drivers have to be
over 25 years old and have valid drivers licenses. Includes: Pick-up
from accommodation, packed lunch, private guide in your jeep.
