2 Day Driver Guided Super Jeep Glacier Expedition, Overnight on a Glacier & Snorkeling or Caving Tour in Iceland

Multi tour: 2 day driver guided super jeep safari to Langjökull glacier, the Golden Circle sightseeing, snorkeling or lava caving and overnight in an expedition tent on Langjökull glacier. Super jeep expedition from Reykjavik, Iceland.

This trip is rated as Challenging with 3 out of 5 possible.

Do you think you have done it all?
Have you been on a glacier in a specially modified 4x4 monster truck? Have you slept on a glacier in an expedition tent??
If you truly want a once in a lifetime adventure then read on and start getting excited.

The tour starts like most sightseeing day tours in Iceland - driving the Golden Circle. The first stop is at Þingvellir National Park which is the only UNESCO cultural world heritage site in Iceland. The history of Þingvellir dates back to the founding of Alþingi, in 930, which is the first parliament in the whole world. Numerous stories of the Vikings took place there, both brutal and beautiful -not much different from the soap operas we know today. Þingvellir is also known for it´s natural beauty. The National Park is split up by a tectonic rift valley created as the European and North American continental plates are slowly drifting apart. It is a sight only seen in one other place in the world. Next we head to the Geysir geothermal area where we will witness boiling hot water erupt 30 meters up in the air. After we have a look at a few colorful hot springs we drive further on to the last gem in the Golden Circle - the "Gold waterfall" Gullfoss.

From Gullfoss we set our course away from civilization, north into the wild and rugged Icelandic highlands. We start by driving Kjölur mountain route but soon we turn west towards the second largest glacier in Iceland, Langjökull glacier. When we reach the edge of the glacier your expert super jeep guide will deflate the enormous tires enabling the super jeep to float on the snow. As he drives you on the glacier you can enjoy the breathtaking views from this secluded area. When the guide has found a good spot for the camp everybody will help out putting up the expedition tents and prepare dinner for the group.

If weather permits we might see the Northern lights dancing above us, giving the white snow a greenish glow. Since we are far far away from any civilization sounds you should prepare yourself for a very good nights sleep under the arctic sky!

Your second day of adventures starts by waking up in the middle of a glacier! Once we are back down from the central highlands you have an option between snorkeling in Silfra rift at Þingvellir National Park or lava caving in a lava tube.
